How to Make

  1. Wash the spray bottles with soapy, hot water and disinfect them by spraying the alcohol inside and also over the tube that fills with liquid. Set aside and let dry naturally.
  2. Choose an essential oil for you skin type. If you have never used this essential oil do a skin test first (mix 1 drop of essential oil with half a teaspoon of carrier oil like olive oil. Apply on the inside of your forearm and wait for 48 hours. If you get any irritation do not use).
  3. For every 2 tablespoons of distilled water add 2 drops of your chosen essential oil.
  4. Add the distilled water and chosen essential oil to the disinfected spray bottle and shake. The toner is now ready to be used.

TIP: You can mix different essential oils for an enhanced fragrance. You can also diffuse the essential oils in your diffuser. Get one here if you haven’t got one yet.

How to Apply

ALWAYS shake well before use!! The essential oils will float to the top which means they can be dangerous when you get to them. In the meantime, you would only be spraying water to your face so do make sure to ALWAYS shake really well before each and every use (between 5-10 vigorous shakes).

  1. Shake well
  2. Apply by spraying directly to your face after cleansing
  3. Leave to dry naturally
  4. Apply moisturiser or serum
  5. Continue with your regular skincare routine

Storage

Use within 2 months of making.

Store in a cool place away from heat and light. I place a lot of my DIY skincare in the fridge.

Do not freeze.

Notes

  • You can use floral waters instead of distilled water (here’s a lovely mix of floral waters you can use as a base)
  • In case of any allergic reactions, stop immediately.
