Glorious & Stunning Landscapes: Exploring ‘Las Cañadas’ in Tenerife (Canary Islands)
‘Las Cañadas del Teide’ is a breathtaking, stunning area in Tenerife, Canary Islands. Lynn and I explored part of the area for a bit of fresh air and a ‘stroll’.
Volcano ‘Teide’ is the highest mountain in Spain, and incredibly beautiful.
Below are a few pics from the explored area…
Look at the glorious landscape…. Teide in the background, shame it looks a little far away in the pic.
Lynn LOVING the walk!
We really enjoyed exploring part of the area (we walked for about 40 minutes or so). It was fascinating to see the different plants growing in such dry conditions. I’m smelling the flowers, they were ‘packed’ with polen, ready for the bees (we’re very interested in the honey the bees make from this part of Tenerife).
Beautiful. Like something you’d see at the bottom of the sea, only that we’re at 2km above sea! The silver of the dead plant was shining beautifully.
Look at the glorious mauve colour… Spectacular.
A beautiful plant growing against all odds!
I mean; look at how deserted the area is… You can truly see how the islands are just a few kilometres away from the North of Africa.
This brings just the one word to mind: LIFE!
The colors standing out. Mount Teide majestically ‘watching over’ the area.
2,000 metres above sea level, Las Cañadas del Teide has some incredible scenery and captures its visitors’ imagination thanks to the wealth of unrivalled landscapes formed by centuries of volcanic eruptions. [Source]
We found these rocks had a funny shape… 🙂

We will be publishing more entries around areas we visit. Sometimes we look for places where we can find medicinal plants or home remedy herbs, etc. We’re very interested lately in looking at how companies are marketing Aloe Vera in Tenerife, we’ll hopefully have a few blog posts on this very soon!
Til next time 🙂
