Ashamed of It

Rebecca  Maroon is awake.

What does that mean? It means the Awareness she is has finally ditched the idea of ‘her’ being a ‘person’.

Rebecca Maroon is a stammerer who always wanted to get rid of her stammer also.

As I suppose most stutterers do. Getting rid of a stutter is getting rid of stigma: they’re not ‘allowed’ to stutter because every therapy directed towards them is also directed towards working around ‘fixing’ the way they talk.

Speech ‘Impediment’

Obviously, this implies that there’s something inherently wrong with stuttering (you don’t fix it if it ain’t broke).

I have never question this. I have never paused to think: why am I looking at the stutter as something that needs to be ‘cured’, ‘lessened’, or ‘removed’? Something is not right – in both the fact that it simply never occurred to me there’s NOTHING wrong with stuttering other than the belief that it is a ‘fault’ and also regarding the thought: ‘how many more beliefs that should be ditched am I not aware of??’

The organizers of an annual conference for stutterers argue that the condition should be considered just another way of speaking, rather than something that needs to be treated.

The Internet is helping people change because people ARE changing. The world is becoming a world where people are allowed (they are recognising they have the power to allow allowance!) to be as they are (rather than to be who they are). You cannot ‘be who you are’ (that would mean, if you look into the sentence, that you are this ‘who’ or ‘other entity’.

You can only be as you are and Love it or Hate it or Reject it. 

But in order to Be as You Are and at the same time Change as You Wish you would have to identify what it is that you have to let go of (thoughts that tell you things which you believe even though there’s no real truth in them).

You learn about yourself so maturity can set in nicely. As your thoughts stop molesting you, smell -and enjoy- the perfume that arises and watch it being reduced to a more polished essence as time goes by. 

How Much Are You Willing to Let Go of Ideas that ‘Show Up’ as ‘Truths’ in Your Head?

Use what comes up within you regarding others (it’s never ‘about them’) for your growth. They’re doing you a favour – as you go through your day watch how you think, feel and act around circumstances. Use the negative thoughts, emotions and actions as prompts for change.

Yes, it is never about others. It is always about believing thoughts.

Spot them, change them.
